Intercide ABF5-BUTANEDIOL consists of a 5% solution of OBPA in 1,4-Butanediol. The solvent system renders this product particularly suitable for use in a variety of polyurethane systems, in particular polyester based polyurethanes which are susceptible to microbial attack by the enzymatic hydrolysis of the ester linkage. Polyurethanes made from polyether polyols do not usually require microbal protection however in certain applications such as carpet underlay, coated fabrics and bedding use of a biocide is advised. The recommended addition level for Intercide ABF5-BUTANEDIOL is in the range 0.5% to 1.0% of the formulation.
