New Tin Stabilizers - More Cost-Effective Options for Weatherable  Applications

Akcrostab T-5314 is a new generation (19% Sn), Butyl Tin Stabilizer with lower tin content than industry leader Akcrostab T-5003B, while still retaining high performance, processability and superior stabilization and color hold. This new technology allows T-5314 to be a more cost – effective option to other weatherable tin stabilizers on the market. It is engineered for co-extruded siding (Cap), window profiles and other demanding high output rigid PVC applications that require excellent color hold, processability and weatherability.

Akcrostab T-5314 has shown good weathering characteristics in weatherable formulations, making it suitable for use in PVC siding, topcoat, and window profiles applications.

Exhibits good early to mid color hold.

T-5314 retains the same extrusion behavior as older high efficiency stabilizers including moderate external lubricity.

Suitable for molding applications and highly filled or interior profile applications.

It's suggested use level is 0.7 to 1.0 phr. This makes it more easily metered and dispersed in the PVC compound than more concentrated stabilizers.

Akcrostab T-5315 is a new generation (15%), Butyl Tin Stabilizer with lower tin content than Akcrostab T-5314 (19%) while still retaining high performance, processability and good stabilization. This new technology allows T-5315 to be a more cost – effective option to other weatherable tin stabilizers on the market. It is engineered for co-extruded siding (Cap), window profiles and other demanding high output rigid PVC applications that require excellent color hold, processability and weatherability. It can also be used as a Methyl Tin replacement, with adjustments the lubrication package to achieved equal processability of the Methyl Tin formulation.

Akcrostab T-5315 has shown good weathering characteristics in weatherable formulations, making it suitable for use in PVC siding, topcoat, window profiles and other weatherable applications.

It exhibits good early to midterm color hold.

Retains the same extrusion behavior as older high efficiency stabilizers including moderate external lubricity.

T-5315 is also suitable for foam applications because of the reduced tin level.

It is also suitable for molding applications and highly filled or interior profile applications.

T-5315 can be used to replace methyltin stabilizers after adjusting for differences in lubricity.

Suggested use level is 0.90 to 1.1 phr. This makes it more easily metered and dispersed in the PVC compound than more concentrated stabilizers.
