Akcros Chemicals Inc, USA has developed a New Low Odor Reverse Ester Mercaptide Tin Substrate Stabilizer for the PVC Siding, Fencing and Profile Extrusion Market.
AKCROSTAB® T- 5311
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AKCROSTAB T- 5311 is a state – of – the – art organotin, reverse ester mercaptide, heat stabilizer containing (9 % tin). It is recommended for the substrate layer of PVC co-extruded profiles, and other rigid PVC applications where weatherability is not critical.
AKCROSTAB T- 5311 exhibits the same color development profile and thermal stability, on an equal phr basis, as Akcros Chemicals AKCROSTAB T-5201 a leading substrate stabilizer.
LOW ODOR - Most organotin, reverse ester mercaptide, heat stabilizers have a disagreeable “sulfur” odor due to the presence of free mercaptans. AKCROSTAB T- 5311 has been designed to contain a mercaptan chemical trap. This results in a uniquely low odor product, both in the neat stabilizer and during the extrusion process.
APPLICATIONS AND ADVANTAGES
• T-5311 is a low cost tin stabilizer for all types of non-weatherable extrusions
• It has Low Odor both in the neat stabilizer and in the extrusion process.
• Akcrostab T- 5311 is moderately lubricating.
• It offers excellent heat stability and color hold at high output rates.
The suggested usage level is 0.7 to 1.5 phr depending on the heat stability required.
